Step Up to the Plate & Give Back

Toys For Tots

Join us for a fun-filled, one-day softball tournament benefiting Toys for Tots! There is no entry fee—the only cost to participate is one new, unwrapped gift per player and coach. Teams are encouraged to come decked out in their holiday spirit and enjoy a day of softball, friendly competition, and fun in a festive atmosphere. Each team is guaranteed 3 games, and the only other requirement is proof of team insurance. Bring your team, bring your holiday cheer, and help us make the season brighter for local children!

Gather Your Team. Bring a Gift. Make a Difference.

What started as a simple idea to give back has grown into a special holiday tradition in the Wendell community. The tournament began when Jeff Norman and his Triangle Lightning team wanted to make a difference for local children and families during the holiday season. The girls themselves helped put the entire tournament together, and that first year brought just 3 teams to the field. The following year, it grew to 5 teams, and it has continued to grow every year.

The Athletic Zone has been honored to take over as the host for the tournament the past two years. Together, we’ve collected hundreds of toys for children and families who are hoping and praying for a little extra holiday cheer this time of year.
